CATHEDRALE NOTRE-DAME DE PARIS

The cathedral Notre-Dame de Paris, conceived by Maurice de Sully was built between XIIth and XIVth centuries (1163-1345). It also shelters the Treasury of the cathedral. Curiosity: the road distances of France are reckoned from the point "0 km" situated on the square.
BASILIQUE DU SACRE COEUR DE MONTMARTRE
Parvis du Sacré Cœur 75018 Paris Métro : Anvers Opening Hours: from 6.45pm to 11.00pm 7 days a week. Church built by national wish following the defeat of 1870. The basilica was sacred in 1919. Curiosity: the Basilica was completely financed by the collection of donations in the whole country (all the names of the donors are engraved in the stone).
TOUR EIFFEL

The Eiffel Tower, one of the most well-known monuments in the world (324 metres, 10 100 tons), was set up by Gustave Eiffel in 1889 for the World Fair. Curiosity: Gustave Eiffel's office is reconstituted at the last floor.
PANTHEON
Place du Panthéon 75005 Paris Métro : Cardinal-Lemoine Opening hours : from 10.00am to 06.30pm (from April to September) and from 10.00am to 06.00pm (from October to March)
Masterpiece of Soufflot (1713-1780) and ancient church dedicated to Saint Geneviève, the Pantheon became, during the Revolution, the necropolis of the well-known and great people. Among these 72 “great men" rest notably Voltaire, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Victor Hugo, Emile Zola, Jean Jaurès and Jean Moulin, and since 1996, André Malraux. Curiosity: you can discover in the heart of the nave the pendulum of Foucault, demonstration of the rotation of the Earth.

MUSEE LOUVRE

Museum since 1793, the Louvre is one of the first European museums and one of the richest to the world. Its collections are organized in eight big departments among which Paintings; sculpture and Egyptian Antiques. At present: "Armenia Sacra": for the first time, display of the Armenian Christian art of the IVth at the dawn of the XIXth century. From February 21st till May 21st, 2007.
MUSEE D’ORSAY
62 Rue de Lille 75007 Paris Métro : Solferino Opening Hours: Every day (except on Tuesdays) from 9.30am to 06.00pm and until 09.45pm on Thursday. Fitted out in the ancient rail station “Gare d’Orsay” inaugurated for the World Fair of 1900, the museum opened its doors in 1986. Besides the traditional artistic domains (painting, sculpture, arts graphs, objets rt), the collections group together works recovering from disciplines such as the architecture, the furniture and the photography.
MUSEE DU QUAI BRANLY :
Ouverture 218 rue de l’Université et 37 Quai Branly 75007 Paris Métro : Alma-Marceau Opening Hours: Every day (except on Mondays) from 10.00am to 06.30pm and until 10.00pm on Thursday. Opened in the end of June 2006, this museum in the singular architecture imagined by Jean Nouvel and supported by Jacques Chirac, presents a combination of ancient collections of ethnology of the museum of the Man (sheltered by the Palace of Chaillot) and those of the national museum of the arts of Africa and Oceania At present: "first Nations: royal collections: the Indians of plains and meadows of North America ": for the first time, objects-lighthouses in touch with the native populations of Canada and the Indians of the United States are collected. Until May 13th, 2007.
CENTRE GEORGES POMPIDOU/BEAUBOURG
Place Georges Pompidou 75004 Paris Métro : Hôtel de Ville Opening Hours: Every day (except on Tuesdays and May the 01st) from 11.00am to 09.00pm and until 11.00pm on every Thursday. The architecture of the Georges Pompidou Center, who marked the 70s by its high-tech look, offers an audacious contrast in the old district of Beaubourg (architects Piano-Rogers 1977 and Piano-Bodin on 1997-2000). This place of modern and contemporary culture shelters the National Museum of Modern Art of Paris. At present: "Samuel Beckett" from March 14th till June 15th, 2007.
MUSEE JACQUEMART ANDRE

In a luxurious mansion built during the Second Empire, you will discover the masterpieces of the Italian Renaissancel, the French School of the XVIIIth century and the Flemish bosses. At present: «masks of China, magic rites of Nuo" until August 28th, 2007. Thanks to hundred of ancient masks resulting from the most beautiful private collections and dating from the XVIth, XVIIth and XVIIIth centuries: The visitor is invited to discover the mysterious universe of the Chinese religious rites.

MUSEE DE L’ORANGERIE
Jardin des Tuileries 75001 Paris Métro : Concorde Opening Hours: Every day from 09.00am to 07.00pm, and until 09.00pm on Fridays. The museum of the “Orangerie” reopened its doors on May 17th, 2006. The museum is settled since 1927 in ancient orangery of the Second Empire. It presents permanently all the Claude Monet's works and 144 paintings of the collection Jean Walter and Paul Guillaume (Cézanne, Renoir, the Customs officer Rousseau, Matisse, Derain, Picasso, Modigliani, Soutine, Utrillo, Marie Laurencin).
